Despite my complaints about the lack of definition in the facial features of the WizKids minis, I am actually very pleased with how they use the clear plastic for things like fire and spell effects! The torch fire came out looking very nice on this model, using a thin glossy glaze for each color other than the black at the top. While I really like the WizKids models, generally… I’m finding that for the human/demi-human figures the features – particularly the facial features – are not very well defined, or they’re obscured from the primer. For example, this Elf (or Half-Elf) figther has almost no nose, the mouth was basically just a cut in the plastic and was obscured, and the eyes were all but flat. I’m running into this for most of the human-like models. So, once I finish the ones I have, I will probably look for another brand of miniature for my Human/Demi-Human figures.
