Months pass, when out of the darkness a deep squeek-growl that turns into a roar is heard. From the rolling fog emerges the stuff of nightmares… Yet another Rat Ogre! It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to work on, let alone finish, any painting. So finally, after months of being overwhelmed by the sheer size, scale, depth, and intricacy of this model, I’ve finally completed it! There’s a lot I could improve on, and several bits I’d do differently (the basing in particular)… but overall I’m happy with how it looks and how generally impressive something this size looks compared to everything else on the field. This model even dwarfs (heh, Dwarfs… Warhammer puns!) the Goblins’ Mangler Squigs! I chose one set of Warpfire Braziers, and one set of Warpfire Projectors. Through the morning fog, you hear low growl-squeeks following several sharp whip-cracks. Over the closest rise and onto the battlefield you see the mutated beasts lumbering toward you, having not yet noticed your presence. Rat Ogres, a creation of Clan Moulder (known for doing horrific and unnatural genetic and Warpstone experiments on beasts and fellow rats), are a warped mixture of creatures and Skaven. Packmasters lead them to direct their vicious attacks against Skaven foes!
