Place & Time: Threshold, 1 Numont 1000 AC
Upon arriving in Threshold, the party made their way to the Shady Dragon Inn and enjoyed the fine food & drink of the New Year / New Millennium celebrations. Clifton Caldwell, a successful merchant of Specularum, approached the party due to their size and offered them gold in exchange for completing a job he certainly cannot do alone – clearing out his recently purchased castle. Having been abandoned for some time, the castle has some unwelcome squatters and the party has been tasked with evicting them.
They’ve encountered a group of merchants using the castle as a free lodging, some squabbling goblins arguing over some coins they’ve collected from around the castle, a handful of cowardly Kobolds that had trapped some (super hungry) wolves in the open-air courtyard, and some Berserkers of unknown origins camping out. Luckily for the party, Clifton has not been able to enter the castle and so he’s unsure of the condition — which is now a little worse for wear, considering the blood & bodies strewn about, and the door that was kicked straight off the hinges by Ivor (the party’s Half-Orc).
The day was wearing into the afternoon and in an effort to replenish their supplies and not be traveling by night, the party headed back into the Shady Dragon Inn of Threshold to rest and regroup… What else will they discover in this somewhat odd castle? Find out this week!
