I’ve had this figure primed to paint for… ages. Two years maybe? Between painting other models and not painting at all, he’s just been sitting on the “under construction” shelf. Waiting.

He waits no longer! Now he is prepared to confront an unwary or unwitting set of adventurers!

I’m definitely not unhappy with the fade from brown to red in his scorpion tail! It came out as well as could be expected and looks how I intended it to (for the most part) — In fact, I’m overall quite pleased with the paint job on this figure. It’s finally starting to feel like my painting has begun to come back up to near the standard I was used to when I was painting regularly… I guess painting regularly really does help!

The dark red to bright red transition isn’t as smooth as I would have preferred, but it’s not super bad and doesn’t HORRIBLY detract from the model overall. Acceptable, and he’ll still look great when plopped down on the table as an enemy!

And finally — Here is the finished model sitting next the exact same model as it was, unpainted out of the Descent: Journeys in the Dark (first edition) game box. Quite a striking difference!
