Well, here they are – all together! If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve (probably) already seen this picture. But here they are, posted for posterity. A reminder of what happens if you take too much time off from painting. On the plus side, the (modest) skills I previously had have started to return relatively quickly — getting the muscle memory back has be a somewhat quick process. The third Orc in this series is the standard Games Workshop style my other Orcs have been. Since I was painting the WizKids orcs and had this one prepped & primed, I painted him at the same time. Of the 3 models painted for the “return to painting” set, I’m happiest with this guy. I don’t really have much to say about this one… I do like how the leather came out for him. The Goblin Boss managed to wrangle the new recruits together for a quick inspection… They managed to keep it together for a few moments, and move in unison… But by the final rotation, the new recruits were at each other and keeping them together was all but an impossibility. Here’s third of this trilogy of recently painted Goblins, and who knows when I’ll get to finish more. I will certainly be trying to carve out time, but I couldn’t begin to predict when I’ll finish another one! The red shoes on these three Night Goblins are a departure from the rest of the Unit, but since all of the spear handles (from Goblins painted years ago) were red, I feel like they’ll still fit with the clan well enough. Apologies for the mis-focus on a couple of these – Didn’t get a chance to review the photos properly, and too busy to re-shoot. At any rate, here we have the second of the Night Gobbos! Yeah, it focused on his feet for some reason. Whoops! At least you can see his moon-shaped belt buckle pretty well… Really pleased with this dude’s shield… I feel like I got the nooks & crannies just right (for once).
